Cyberbullying

I think that basic characterization of a true profile as opposed to a fictitious one is the intention of misrepresenting yourself. This case is a clear example of a fictitious profile, because it was created by a mother, but the profile represented itself as a 16-year old boy. I think that learning the difference between a true profile and a fake one is very relative. Some people can misrepresent themselves so well that you would have no idea. There is no absolute way of telling whether or not any profile is true. As for who is at fault, I believe it was the mother who created the profile. Somehow it is acceptable to bully a child online, but would she have said those things to her face. If a mother had been found to be spreading a rumor like that in a social situation as opposed to online, she would have been vilified, as she well should be. How would she feel if someone did that to her daughter?
